Good Morning Everyone,

 

Starting at 5pm EST today, we will be starting the migration of our Office 365 “Tenant” and merging it into Centuri’s.  Please finish up all emails, work in Teams, and One Drive by 4:45pm EST today.  We are working on narrowing the time down for when email may be available. 

 

You will still be able to log onto the network and we will be posting a status of the migration in the IT Section of the Intranet:

Our goal is to minimize impact and the duration as much as possible. 

 

Your Next Steps

As a reminder, some information will not transfer to the new tenant, this is a limitation with Microsoft.  You will need to take action to ensure your info remains available in the following areas:

 

  • Private chats in Teams will not be migrated. Please keep note of any important communications or copy them to a document before the cutoff date.

 

  • Teams meetings will need to be updated. Your meetings will be retained on your Outlook calendar, but they will need to be updated and resent to ensure that they show up properly in Teams.

 

  • Teams Creation.  IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The capability to create a “Team” in Office 365 has been temporarily disabled in order to facilitate the integration.  The ability to create a “Team” will be re-enabled when the migration has been completed.

 

  • Stream recordings will not be transferred. Make certain to download your videos to repost or copy the transcripts into a document.

 

  • Some Teams and Channel settings will need to be reset. Team and Channel owners will need to check their settings.

 

  • Some Planner entries will need to be recreated. Be prepared to transfer your plans and tasks to a document to keep track of your plans. After the cutover, you will have to recreate your tasks in Planner.

 

  • You will need to reconnect to OneDrive and replace SharePoint bookmarks. SharePoint files and OneDrive will have new locations. Links will need to be re-established after the transition.

 

Aside from that, simply log out from your account as normal at the end of the day on Friday, December 17th. Sign in as normal on Monday morning to complete the process. Then you can just return to business as usual.  We will have an escalation process in place in the event that there is an issue.
